Dress Code Reminder
Since the warm weather has arrived, we felt it would be helpful to post a reminder about the St. Andrew's Dress Code (Please see Student Planner)

School is a place of work for students and in general, school clothing should be neat, clean, modest and presentable.  All apparel should be respectful of both self and others.
- Hats, jackets and winter boots are to be kept in lockers throughout the school day
- Shoes must be worn in the building at all times
- Acceptable shorts and skirts (which reach mid-thigh) may be worn
- Tops for all students should cover the upper body from waist to both shoulders.  Tops must overlap bottoms.  Halter  tops,
muscle shirts or tops with spaghetti straps are not appropriate choices for school.
- Undergarments will be covered at all times.
- All clothing should be free of images and/or words that may be suggestive, derogatory or offensive.

Students wearing unsuitable clothing will be asked to change.  In some cases, this may require a return home. The responsibility for maintaining this code of behaviour is shared by students, teachers, staff, parent/guardians, and the St.
Andrew’s community.

Health and Safety Alert10262011_100951_0.png

A new substitute peanut butter product is being marketed to consumers as a safe alternative for children to bring to schools in place of peanut butter. The Waterloo Region District School Board asks that parents refrain from including these kinds of
products in your child’s lunches or snacks.

These products tend to look, taste, and smell very much like peanut butter. While the product is nut free, it mimics a known allergen that causes anaphylaxis in some children to the degree that it is indistinguishable from the allergen. It is a convincing substitute, opening up the possibility that it can be confused as peanut butter, or worse yet, peanut butter could be confused as this soy-based product.

The safety and health of our students is our first priority, which is why our schools have procedures in place to minimize risk of anaphylaxis reactions in our students. We sincerely appreciate your cooperation in avoiding the use of these products
to assist in our continued efforts to create a safe, caring and inclusive learning environment for all students.
